The Dangers of Severe Morning Sickness

A new study shows pregnant women with severe morning sickness are at increased risk for pre-eclampsia. The study found that women who need hospital treatment before 12 weeks are 20 percent more likely to suffer pre-eclampsia, which is high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine after 20 weeks of pregnancy. It usually occurs about 37 weeks. OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson explains how pre-eclampsia affects the body.
